The Winter That Would Never End!

This past winter, we had record breaking cold temps, we are talking numbers close to negative 40 before the wind chill was factored in. So cold that school was canceled. I think we ended up with about 4 or 5 days off of school for these cold weather days plus a real snow day. Many of these days we didn't even leave the house so we had to get creative to keep us entertained and sane.  Here is what we did.
On the first day off, it would have been the first day back to school after the holiday break so we were actually missing school so we did some worksheets.

After several days of being off of school and feeling cooped up, we invited several friends and went bowling to burn off some extra energy. Notice all the boys that were there.

We of course shoveled lots of snow.

We held our own indoor Olympics.

It kept piling up.

We found the largest snow pile in the city in the Fleet Farm parking lot. This picture does not do the pile justice.

Ryan got spring fever and decided to trade in his shovel for a mower.

Ryan even lost his shoe in the snow we found it 4 days later during a thaw. Ironically it was on St. Patty's day so I'm thinking the Leprechauns had a hand in it.
