The Tooth Fairy Makes Her First Visit

Well it FINALLY happened. Drew has been anxiously awaiting the day he would loose his first tooth and after about a week and a half of one being wiggly he decided it was time. We could see the new tooth coming in behind it and it had gotten pretty loose so we tried eating an apple. He tried pulling it himself and then turned the reins over to mom. It came out pretty easily so it was ready. Drew proceeded to call several grandmas, aunts and uncles to share the news. And just like Christmas morning, Drew was up early to find a shiny gold dollar coin that the tooth fairy left. Drew now is over analyzing what he can and can't eat and even do with this missing tooth and Matt is just a little jealous and just thinks Drew looks "weird!"

Snowballs for Sale

The boys received a snowball maker for Christmas even with the very little snow we have, Drew decided to put it to work. The entrepreneur in him has decided he should sell them so he's made signs to promote his business. Personally I think he needs to work on his pricing strategy, but he'll learn the lesson someday on his own. In case you can't read the sign, here are his prices. First one is free, buy 3 for 5 cents, 5 for 10 cents and 10 for 25 cents. To me it is all priceless!

Matt & His Friends

One afternoon while Drew was at school, Matt decided he needed some friends to watch TV with. So what do you do when your big brother is at school and your little brother is napping? You have all your stuffed animals join you. Lord only knows how many trips the kid took up and down the stairs that day, but I thought it was totally worth taking a photo of.

Conquering the Legos!

To say Drew loves legos is probably an understatement so needless to say it was a Lego Christmas in our house. The kid is obsessed and addicted to building sets. Craig's mom and sister gave Drew the Millenium Falcon (Star Wars ship) lego for Christmas. The set had over 1200 pieces and the box suggested it for ages 9 - 12, Drew is 6. It took him about three days to conquer and boy was he proud when he completed it. The picture above pretty much says it all. Now we just need to find a safe place to display it.

When I Grow Up . . .

Recently on our way to Lifetime one morning, Matt and I had the following conversation:
Matt - How about this?
Cindy - What?
Matt - When I grow up and when you are done working out, come across the street to my work (police station).
Cindy - Ok, should I bring you lunch?
Matt - No, I'll be busy arresting people.
After a brief pause.
Matt - Well maybe you could bring me McDonalds and then at night I'll come home to you.

Could the magic be fading?

Each year, Craig's work hosts a family holiday party where the kids have an opportunity to visit with Santa. This year while Santa was doing his "routine" Drew came over to me and whispered in my ear, "Mom, Santa read this same story last year." I realized then that it won't be long before the magic of Christmas will be gone for Drew. I guess he's growing up! As for the other two, they wanted nothing to do with the man in the red suit.
